The indictments were announced Monday by Monmouth County Prosecutor Raymond S. Santiago.
Dwayne Exilus, 19, Isaiah Z. Walker, 19, and Jahbron J. Goff, 18, whose identity had previously been withheld due to his age at the time of the incident, were charged in the case.
Goff will be tried as an adult.
All three were charged with second-degree conspiracy to commit unlawful possession of a weapon and second-degree unlawful possession of a weapon.
They were also charged with third-degree hindering and fourth-degree possession of a prohibited weapon.
Goff was additionally charged with first-degree murder and second-degree possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose.
The shooting happened around 8:58 p.m. on June 12, 2025, near the Chelsea Avenue beach between the shoreline and boardwalk at Pier Village.
Long Branch police responding to reports of shots fired found an adult male suffering from a single gunshot wound.
The victim was later identified as 18-year-old Chrystofer A. Whyte and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Investigators identified Goff as the person responsible for the shooting.
Authorities said the case also involved unlawful possession of firearms and efforts to conceal Goff's involvement, prosecutors said.
